I wrote about the mythology of the night dancer, one of the most evil characters from this part of the world (East Africa), but whose stories always end up in horror-comedies. When you talk about a night dancer in Uganda, people expect a good laugh.... But my short film is more #dance than horror, a revenge fantasy. Anyway, if you enjoy folk stories and mythologies and zombies have a read.

I visited Robert Haus, a national neon treasure two days ago in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
I have known him online for years, and he moved from Alaska so now he is slightly easier to visit.

Robert has probably the best collection of historic neon artifacts, especially when it comes to old bending equipment, transformers, catalogs, and other difficult to find oddities. "Neon Archaeology" is his thing and his blog catalogs his journeys,

His setups were impressive- he has very comprehensive radio and electrical knowledge around neon bombarding systems. FOCI is lucky to have him around. I gave him some hand pulled tubing to play with in exchange for some coffee beans he roasted and some really old rare electrodes. It was so nice to meet him and his wife.

What happens when you feel like you have jet lag but it’s #Nomad lifestyle lag? 🥴

When you’re car camping, there’s not a lot of “veg” time unless you intentionally remember to do that. Even just chilling out in some grand location with a breathtaking vista can feel a bit like work, because your brain is so active. It’s simply too much stimulation.

I felt like a zombie all morning. 🧟‍♂️

But I really forced myself to take a slower pace…

After Roel Vugts from RV Audio Design (see: rvaudiodesign.com/) landed a formidable success (see, e.g.: youtube.com/watch?v=ebCjnirg6q) with his first #plugin Disseptor, an interesting take on #saturation with all-pass filters, I asked him if he would be willing to make a #linuxaudio version of the plugin, and he was! 🥳
And now I also did an #interview with the young Dutch developer on my #blog, see: amadeuspaulussen.com/blog/2025
