I hate that we normalize deaths by vehicle like this.

If a person dies and it is found to be completely your fault, you should go to prison, or at least have a criminal record.

These aren't "accidents".

They are actual things that have happened due to factors including in this case “undue care and attention”.

🚙 Was driving the other day and someone came through the curve with high speed cluelessly cutting through in my lane.

🙄 I'm safe (I drive very defensively because kid and all) but it got me thinking if the person was driving stupidly, recklessly, carelessly or plain dangerously.

💡 Then it dawned on me. The perfect way to say how stupid, careless and all that...

It's weird what grabs the attention and what doesn't.

I was looking up some UK #statistics and it looks like the most dangerous thing our sons do is drive a car.

Over 78% of all car fatalities are male and that's even higher in the younger groups.

Strangely, that's not why men's insurance is higher. That's mostly because men are more likely to make a claim.

Apparently women cause more accidents per capita in the #USA, which is a very odd geographical difference if you ask me.

These are the kinds of discrepancies that make me suspicious of #social #research

Someone must be getting this wrong, surely. #american #women can't be worse #drivers than their #British counterparts, can they?

Not sure if turning the #A14 into the #M14 would be a miracle cure (a Northern bypass for #Ipswich does make more sense, but won't happen overnight) - either would only provide fairly short term gains, they would soon fill up with traffic!

A wider problem is bad #driving during the time pressures of the rush hour - more businesses should adopt flexible working to alleviate this (the lorry drivers are already working 24/7)

One of our sons is a truck driver. He gets a bit racist when he's behind the wheel of his 60-tonne behemoth, specifically toward drivers from the Indian subcontinent. Not all, and only when they display a remarkable lack of driving skill. To be fair, he's just as reactive to bad drivers when they're caucasian, too.

He also like doof-doof and a laugh, so I made this for him. It's not really doof-doof, but it's a good little toe-tapper.
