Some plants doing their spring plant thing. Flower is Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica) and the little plant is Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis).
This is the first year the bluebells have been left alone long enough by rabbits for them to fully bloom. This is because I put chicken wire in their way.
The goldenseal make a very cute and silly-looking red drupe in the mid-summer.
I love this entirely wild patch at the front of the garden. Everything, apart from the shrubs, is self-sown (or was already here when we bought the house). I do not do anything apart from cutting it down once a year in late autumn. At the moment, the #bluebells are flowering.
Unlike the rest of the garden it is visible from the road. I am certain that some uninspired people think it is an uncared-for weed patch.

Love this beautiful Art Nouveau style tenement tile pattern, featuring Scottish Bluebells. It's from a tenement close in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow.
Calling all those who signed up for the March Yan Tan Tethera Yarn Club - it's time for the big reveal!
