@KazukyAkayashi @feudjais j'ai souvent entendu du bien de Movim côté UI/UX, peux-tu décrire ce que tu n'aimes pas ?

Sinon j'ai développé avec Libervia une passerelle ActivityPub <=> XMPP grâce à une subvention NLnet/NGi0 qui devrait fonctionner avec Movim. Je suis très pris et je n'ai pas encore pu faire une release officielle, mais des gens utilisent déjà.

@themimitoof ça n'est pas contre toi du tout. Cette idée que c'est ancien (ce qui est vrai) et dépassé (ce qui est faux) est courante, et ça n'aide pas, déjà qu'on est pas les meilleurs en com' 🙂 .

Des interfaces "fancy" on en a, regarde #Movim (movim.eu/) ou #Prose (prose.org/) par exemple. Je travaille moi même à un redesign du l'interface web de #Libervia.

Niveau fonctionnalités, je pense pas qu'on manque de grand chose, et c'est extensible de toute façon.

@pavot Well Libervia on which I'm working does all of that (and even experimental remote desktop control).

I'm working on web frontend redesign, then stabilisation, and I should work on a release hopefully in a not too distant feature.

Movim also does A/V calls and screen sharing.

@ailepet @mayasynth C'est surtout que Jabber est devenu une marque déposé, appartenant à une société privé. Et si au début elle a toléré cette marque soit utilisée comme synonyme d'XMPP, elle a vite changé d'avis.

Pour le coup, les créateurs du protocole ont eu du nez de le renommer au moment de le proposer comme standard.

Au passage, la messagerie n'est pas la seule application possible d'XMPP. (Voir #Movim et #Libervia.)

🎉 Happy to announce that my talk "A Universal and Stable API to Everything: XMPP" at FOSDEM has been accepted! 🎉

I'll explore a new way of seeing XMPP and how it can achieve things quickly and simply when used as a coding interface. I’ll also discuss the work of the XMPP Standards Foundation and why having many XEPs isn’t a bad thing.

After #GUI, I've now pushed implementation of a #TUI output in #Libervia #CLI frontend, which shows A/V call video streams directly into your terminal! It's using #Kitty or #iTerm2 image protocols, or #Unicode half-blocks (thanks to #termimage)

I'm not aware of any other CLI tools doing something similar (#XMPP or not). It's not as useful as GUI, but it's quite fun :)

Attached are 2 demo videos of call between Libervia and #Conversations, on #Konsole.
