He stepped nowhere near the 50,000 Palestinians killed by the Israeli armed forces since 8 October 2023, or the US’s military and political support of the genocide.

Rather, #Booker was searching for a particularly ludicrous lie... “There are lies about USAID, ... like 5 million condoms going to Gaza or something outrageous,” he said. Considering the other outrageous things #Trump has said about #Gaza – such as his plan to “clean out” the strip to make room for luxury resorts – the remark felt trivializing."

One of the things Senator Cory #Booker described in the middle of the night is Trump's timeline for invoking the Insurrection Act & that chilling description kept me awake far longer.

On "Day One" Trump tasked Sec Def & Sec Hom Sec with a 90 DAY study & preparation timeline on the #InsurrectionAct, which will enable him to use the military within the country to round up & deport people, among other things.

Watched the last hour of Cory Booker’s marathon speech on TV in my living room, texting about it with my daughter, who was commuting to her teaching job in Japan, and watching the live stream on her phone on the train. Gen Z Americans especially needed to see someone do something, and #booker did that. What an impressive and passionate human being. Onward.
