I know there are some plugins for @GIMP@floss.social - but what is the reason that @gimp@lemmy.world has in 2025 still no possibility to offer RGB to CMYK options?

I am still wrapping my head around #jpeg2000...
It looks like #Gimp 3 removed the exporting support for it...
I can still use #imagemagick to trigger the conversion from any source to jpeg2000 to PDF.
But fewer steps are better...
Lou Lüeder Notez quand-même qu'en faisant mon starter pack hier c'était la première fois que j'utilisais la version 3 de gimp et il faut dire qu'elle a peut-être été overhypée parce que j'ai absolument rien vu de notable côté UX par rapport aux précédentes. C'est toujours autant la merde.

In other news, #GIMP 3.0.0 seems to be terribly unstable in my machine with random crashes for the most trivial things and it's starting to get annoying...
The snap version crashed whenever I changed the pencil size.
The AppImage, when I change to a folder that contains an xcf.

The first programming language I learned was Python. I learnt it myself from Gérard Swinnen's book to write automated tests for a pirate-themed board game I had invented (graphics made with Inkscape and GIMP).
Although the development was stuck at ~87% completion and never finished, Python and automated testing became my speciality and paved my career.

Pinta 3.0 was just released. This version fixes 29 issues/bugs.
I suspect we might get a new Pinta version released soon because I tried installing Pinta 3.0 alongside GIMP 3.0.2 on my wife's Windows laptop. Unfortunately, Pinta 3.0 does NOT launch, so there was no way to compared Pinta 3.0 with GIMP 3.0.2.
