Extremely impressed with #Suno today. I've had this music in my head for years, it's a bit of an earworm and I find myself humming it at random times.
It used to play circa 1985, after the #TVAM startup music on #ITV in the UK. All I have is a crappy mono version from youtube, so I wanted to see whether Suno could give me a reimagined stereo version, and it did so on the very first try. Absolutely love how it handled instrumentation and timing here. I set the two versions up in Logic and crossfaded between each one so you could hear them side-by-side.

Ho creato il testo con #DuckAI (con #Llama) dando un mio prompt lunghetto sui pericoli della loro oligarchia per il mondo e l'Italia che gli va dietro come servi, e poi nello stile di #suno gli ho chiesto un brando softrock con venature hard e voce stile #Nek

Sometimes I just feed a few seconds of non-copyrighted stuff to #Suno and put in random styles to see what it comes up with. Today I fed it the first 8 bars of the Windows XP Title Theme and told it to extend it. It came out with some kinda boring continuations, and then ... this. Not sure what I think of it, it is certainly not what I had in mind, but it's kinda catchy. Also yes, it clipped when it came off the site. I pretty much just added the original pads back to the beginning and added some light compression to bring up the quiet bits.

Je doute que ce genre d'IA tue l'âme de la musique à court terme. Par contre, elle permet à n'importe qui de faire n'importe quoi. Et cela en piétinant le travail et les droits des artistes sans aucun scrupule. Fascinante interview du représentant de #Suno : oui on prend des morceaux de musique qui existent déjà pour nourrir notre #IA générant de la musique, mais "c'est légal" puisque "toutes les autres IA le font".
Et puis en plus, plus personne ne veut s'emmerder à apprendre la musique et à la jouer aujourd'hui, c'est bien connu, c'est trop compliqué, c'est long, c'est fatiguant... Pfff, faut vraiment être un loser pour composer quoi !
