Right now, Congress is deciding whether or not to keep clean energy tax credits that lower energy costs, support local economies, and reduce climate-altering pollution.

Taking away these tax credits would raise household energy costs by hundreds of dollars a year over the next five years? Please tell your members of Congress today to defend vital clean energy tax credits.

Recent federal actions reversing investments in environmental justice work are putting frontline and fenceline communities at risk of toxic pollution and continued environmental health disparities.

Please urge your Members of Congress to ensure that all people, regardless of background and circumstance, have access to clean water, clean air, and a healthy environment by helping to pass the Empowering and Enforcing Environmental Justice Act of 2025.

It is time for our railway to put the people who use it first - demand the government do these four things:

Reinstate the railway’s duty to cater for disabled persons and the environment
Create a publicly owned train leasing company - to stop billions being taken out of our railway in dividends
Give passengers a real voice - so that the railway is democratically accountable to us
Invest in the railway - this will enable the government to cut fares and attract more people to the railway

Transport is devolved, but this public consultation will feed into legislation that will affect the whole of the UK.

So this affects you whether you live in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Take just 1 minute to respond to the consultation now.
Ask the government to run our railway for people, not profit

Endangered species and the places they call home are paying the price for Trump’s senseless cuts. actionnetwork.orgDemand Trump Fund Programs Protecting Endangered Wildlife Endangered species and the places they call home are paying the price for President Trump and DOGE’s senseless cuts. If the Trump Administration fails to reverse these reckless cuts, Congress must pass emergency legislation requiring them to immediately restore federal funding for critical wildlife conservation programs. President Trump’s so-called “government reform” efforts have left endangered species programs in limbo and put decades of environmental progress at risk. Across the world and here in the US, vital conservation initiatives are grinding to a halt. Sea turtles in Central America and elephants in Africa are just two examples of species being jeopardized by the Trump Administration’s abandonment of conservation programs. In Michigan, the piping plover—a federally endangered shorebird—is now left without federal Endangered Species Act support. The state is being forced to carry the full cost of monitoring efforts after Trump and DOGE abruptly pulled funding. This is not an isolated case. Endangered and threatened species and ecosystems around the world are now left unprotected due to the Trump Administration’s abandonment of habitat restoration, monitoring, and enforcement activities. This freeze in funding is not a budgetary necessity—it is a shortsighted political maneuver that threatens wildlife, undermines global public trust, and places the burden on states, nonprofits, and volunteers to fill the gap. Contracts have been frozen, organizations have received stop-work orders, and even programs with bipartisan support among hunters, anglers, and rural communities are being abandoned at the directive of Trump and DOGE. The Trump Administration’s push to “streamline” the federal government is coming at the expense of science-based conservation, environmental stewardship, and legal mandates under the Endangered Species Act. These actions not only jeopardize irreplaceable wildlife but also ignore the will of the American people, who overwhelmingly support the Endangered Species Act and its work to protect our natural heritage. Congress has both the authority and the responsibility to act if the Trump Administration continues to refuse to fund and carry out these critical programs. Sign the petition to urge the Trump Administration to resume operations and funding for life-saving wildlife conservation work, and for Congress to hold the Administration accountable for its reckless disregard of this highly successful and proven Endangered Species Act.

After 3 months that I have created an open letter trying to persuade politicians to leave X, I have just noticed a very interesting number. In 10 days, the petition that endorses the letter got more than 1500 signatures. From that day in, that is more than 80 days, there were less than 1000 new signatures. We have less than 2400 signatures at the moment: openpetition.eu/leavex

There were two people with several followers here on the Fediverse sharing the petition right after it was started, @randahl and @eloquence . I wonder if that's the reason there were so many signatures in a few days, then it faded out. Or maybe there is some network effect when it comes to online petitions.

I still believe that politics is done face to face. Unfortunately, I haven't found an organization to take over the petition, which would make it easier to gather signatures on the streets. I've talked to a few, and I'll keep trying.
