Y a un truc que j'aimerais bien organiser mais que je sais pas trop comment faire mieux que aujourd'hui, les gens avec qqn animaux (ici âne, poney, poules), vous organisez comment la gestion de votre compost, déchets verts et fumier ?
Actuellement j'ai 1 tas de fumier, 2 bac à compost (un pour les poules, un au potager que je mélange aux déchets de tonte), un bac de feuilles mortes pour alléger mon sol et un méga tas de branchages envahis d'orties au fond du terrain.
Y a probablement d'autres façons de faire, est-ce qu'une partie du fumier peut être compostée ? Comment vous faites vous ?

OK, you post on this stuff almost as frequently as a clock chimes, more often than the cockerel crows. We'll bite seeing as it's full moon and allegedly the best time for sowing seeds.
• Where are your audience, who are your #sheeple? Most will be blithely hopping in and out of the various walled gardens, so how are they to discover, or be persuaded to, the joys of the #OpenWeb; that it's the (non-cancerous) #growth (aka #PostGrowth / #Degrowth) they're truly looking for? How are they to be converted into disciples and evangelists?
° From the opposite POV, what sort of #silo are you going to build for your composting needs. The sort of open skip that other people will opportunistically fill up rapidly with all sorts of shit and trash? And will you be relying on the rakes, forks and shovels of a huge team of mods? How will they be onboarded? Or a pay-what-you-can-or-will model where people can post all their shit until moved on?
• And with respect to your pitch for the #OMN, just as inevitably, as the Esther Dysons of this word can never be unheard saying, "Does it even scale?"
Would merrily go off on further tangents on the Peertube/Youtube dilemmas, what is to be done with an anarcho-silo like Kolektiva, and so on, but hey there's other nettles to be scythed. Does it all go into the mix and get broken down into some lovely fluffy and friable rich humus in the end?

When I was younger, I was responsible for the #compost bucket—a yellow one whose stench triggered my gag reflex.
Strangely, when emptying my own compost buckets today, the smell wasn't nearly as offensive. This could be due to layering sawdust (a layer over every significant deposit) or a diminished sense of smell with age. Either way, I'm not complaining!

My particular interests include #TreePruning (think: fruit orchards, but also espaliers and bonsai when I'm feeling particularly spicy), figuring out how to grow a #Garden on a plot that is almost 100 % sand and gets little to no rain in the summer months, #BuildingSoil, and collecting interesting vegetable varieties (bonus points if they are black/purple or variegated).
I am a mix of about 50 % idealism and 50 % cynicism. The world is going to shit, but… that doesn't mean we can't try to have nice things while we watch the world burn.
Follow and connect if you want to exchange ideas, passions, seeds or just talk about STUFF. I speak German and English well enough to hold a conversation, other languages might need some more time to decipher.

@potterybyosa Seedling photographs are easy compared to a no-till or no-dig photograph. Charles Dowding of the UK has decades of no-dig experience he has shared. I understand the older material is less capitalist. I happy to share our Minnesota no-dig experience. Which often leads to someone with more experience. #nodig, #notill, #compost.
Built a Joraform composter today, the “Big Pig” I’ve had on back order for months. Good solid construction job, gonna be nursing the RSI for a bit! The compost from this will go into our heap compost along with chook poo and bedding and grass cuttings for incredible compost. #gardening #compost

Perfectly true, but a thermal #compost bin (unlike a cheap plastic dalek) will usually break them down. That's been our experience.

@Sannjord The garden vegetable starts look healthy. The celeriac is a week or two taller than ours. Our garden is on the southern Minnesota schedule. The mastodon gardening community inspires us to try different vegetables. We share a lot of gardening, compost, and fermenting photographs. Alt text descriptions are a big help to boosting posts. Spring cleaning this weekend to get ready for new gardening season. First, the compost needs to be turned. The first thing to know about compost is that there are a lot of ways to do it, and a lot of people are convinced that theirs is the only right way. I ignore them. I am a lazy composter. I don't balance my greens and browns, I don't take temperature readings, I don't turn the piles more than a few times a year. I use the three bay system.

And lastly, you can make free #compost by asking a coffee shop to save their used grounds and combine with free untreated sawdust. It’s the only reason I go to Starbucks lol.
