It seems that v1.17 broke syslog ingestion.I tried with VictoriaLogs on <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/OpenBSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#OpenBSD</a> /amd64 and Linux/ARM64, with syslog and rsyslog. Ingestion metrics are updated (vl_bytes_ingested_total,vl_rows_ingested_total,vl_udp_reqests_total), error metrics are 0 but I cannot find the logs in the UI or REST API.EDIT: The solution is to add "-syslog.timezone='Europe/Paris'" to the command-line :flan_facepalm: <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/SysadminLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SysadminLife</a>

I haven't seen many be able to do join syntax for logs that makes sense. I'm pretty sure <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/victorialogs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#victorialogs</a> is my logs server now. I'm having actual fun slicing through logs. Alejandro BaezAlso, doesn't help that I'm getting fairly quickly productive with its <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/logsQL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#logsQL</a>. I more than familiar with <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Loki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Loki</a> and <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ElasticSearch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ElasticSearch</a> for these things, but <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/victorialogs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#victorialogs</a> really does feel a bit easy to understand how to query and filter. Though once I have like a month with it, I will likely find the short cases that breaks this love and question why not use SQL. 😝

Alejandro BaezI been messing around trying self hosted options for logs. Mostly to scratch an itch, but also to know what is available in the market.<a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/openObserve" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#openObserve</a> is nice, but feels pretty clunky for what I want. Found this thing called <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/seq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#seq</a>, which is kind of brilliant. But right now, I've settled with <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/victorialogs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#victorialogs</a> from <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/victoriametrics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#victoriametrics</a>. It can ingest <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/elasticsearch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#elasticsearch</a> formatted logs. But you get the ease that <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/loki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#loki</a> was trying to do.
