fanf42<p>Personal note taking and structuration app</p><p>I'm looking for personal notes taking app that would allow to organically add structure - especially by creating inter note links and to-dos/reminders.</p><p>I never used org-mode put from what I understand of it, it could be that.</p><p>It needs to be floss or at the very least based on an interoperable standard (I don't know about such a thing, I would love to learn).<br>I would need to used it on smartphone and linux laptop. If the sync relies on a private service, it needs to be eee. <br>It needs to be able to store rich text (the markdown set we seems to converge to is OK) and images, ideally integrates with mermaid.js</p><p>I know of :</p><ul><li><a href="https://github.com/logseq" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/logseq</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></li><li><a href="https://joplinapp.org/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">joplinapp.org/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> (but looks more like notion, it misses</li><li><a href="https://obsidian.md/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">obsidian.md/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> (not floss)</li><li><a href="https://github.com/TriliumNext/Notes" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.com/TriliumNext/Notes</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> (perhaps?)</li></ul><p>Do you use any ? Do you know others?</p><p>Boost appreciated!</p><p><a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/orgmode" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>orgmode</span></a> <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>logseq</span></a> <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/joplin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>joplin</span></a> <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>obsidian</span></a> <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/trilium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>trilium</span></a></p>
viq<p>I'm nowhere near figuring out what <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/notes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>notes</span></a> <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/application" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>application</span></a> to use, and in addition to <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/Trilium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trilium</span></a> / <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/TriliumNext" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TriliumNext</span></a>, <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/SilverBullet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SilverBullet</span></a> and <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/Obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a> now I have <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/Notesnook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Notesnook</span></a> on the list to look at as well 😂<br>(<a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/AppFlowy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AppFlowy</span></a> and <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/Logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Logseq</span></a> have taken VC money, so, uh, nah)</p>
Alexander H Atkins<p>What’s your favorite <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FOSS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/notetaking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>notetaking</span></a> application? Preferably with server sync and a mobile app. I have been using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Trilium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trilium</span></a> but now that I am doing <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/research" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>research</span></a> in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/China" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>China</span></a> I need mobile <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/offlinesupport" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>offlinesupport</span></a>.</p>
viq<p>In my search for <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/notes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>notes</span></a> taking applications, and especially to help me track <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/tasks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tasks</span></a> , where I was mostly looking at <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/Trilium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trilium</span></a>, <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/joplin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>joplin</span></a> <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/joplinapp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>joplinapp</span></a> , and eyeing a bit <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/obsidan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>obsidan</span></a> <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/ObsidianMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianMD</span></a> (it's not open source, and for work use would be paid), I just learned about <a href="https://social.hackerspace.pl/tags/SilverBullet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SilverBullet</span></a> . It's certainly intriguing, but I'm not sure yet what I think about it 🤔</p><p>(Feel free to engage with this post with advice etc, I guess it is me asking)</p>
Darius<p>Update on my academic life.</p><p>I quit my research project almost a year ago. It was too much work for my conditions then. Plus I'm not fit for hardcore modeling.</p><p>As of past month I started works on my undergraduate thesis. It's gonna be a piece on <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/COMSOL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>COMSOL</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/acoustic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>acoustic</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/simulation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>simulation</span></a> </p><p>Writing is gonna be in <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LaTeX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LaTeX</span></a> and <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>obsidian</span></a> for notes instead <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/trilium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>trilium</span></a> since it's more collaborative.</p>
