🐦 Eurasian Jay 🇳🇱 ℹ️
The Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) grows up to 35 cm tall and has a wingspan of up to 58 cm. It is a member of the corvid family and feeds on acorns, caterpillars and seeds. Jays are good vocal mimics and warn forest dwellers of danger.

ℹ️ Der Eichelhäher (Garrulus glandarius) wird bis zu 35 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 58 cm. Er gehört zur Familie der Rabenvögel und ernährt sich u.a. von Eicheln, Raupen und Sämereien. Eichhäher sind gute Stimmenimitatoren und warnen die Waldbewohner vor Gefahren. 🇦🇹 Auch die Feldlerchen sind schon zahlreich unterwegs. Wenns mal im Gras sitzen, sinds richtig gut getarnt. Diese hier hab ich nur gesehen, weil ich ihr beim Landen zugeschaut habe. Was auch nicht ganz einfach ist: Die fliegen nach unten und dann knapp über dem Boden fliegens noch ein paar Meter weiter bevor sie landen.

🇬🇧 Skylarks are also already out and about in large numbers. They have an excellent camouflage sitting in the grass. I only got this one sitting in the grass because I watched it land. Which isn't easy either: They fly down and then fly just above the ground for a few more meters before actually landing.

Feldlerche von hinten links aufgenommen im Landeanflug. Das Bokeh ist ein Verlauf von einem helleren, braun-grünen Ton unten zu einem dunkleren grün am oberen Bildrand. Die Lerche ist an der Grenze des rechten Bilddrittels positioniert und fliegt nach links.
Die Feldlerche sitzt nach der Landung im langen trockenen Gras, wo sich unten schon das erste frische Grün zeigt. Sie sitzt hinter einigen Halmen. Man kann erahnen wie schwer sie zu sehen ist, wenn sie einfach ruhig in der Wiese sitzt und man nicht hineinzoomen kann.
