Orion Ussner kidder<p>Looking for <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> help, if you're so inclined.</p><p>I am (gods help me) trying to get a <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Brother" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Brother</span></a> printer/scanner working in <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a> 12 / <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gnome</span></a> 43.9 on a <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Thinkpad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Thinkpad</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/T480S" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>T480S</span></a>.</p><p>Before a recent reintallation of hte OS, the <a href="https://mas.to/tags/CUPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CUPS</span></a> driver used to work for printing but not scanning, *and* the Brother Linux printer drivers used to make the scanner work, too.</p><p><a href="https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadend.aspx?c=ca&lang=en&prod=mfcl2750dw_us_eu_as&os=128&dlid=dlf006893_000&flang=4&type3=625" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">support.brother.com/g/b/downlo</span><span class="invisible">adend.aspx?c=ca&lang=en&prod=mfcl2750dw_us_eu_as&os=128&dlid=dlf006893_000&flang=4&type3=625</span></a></p><p>But now, neither works, and I get the error message: "Unable to locate printer" (followed by the correct IP address).</p>
